Independent Chair for Harlow & Gilston Garden Town, Guy Nicholson, has paid tribute to Councillor Danny Purton.
Councillor Purton, a Labour councillor for the Mark Hall Ward, passed away on Friday evening, April 30, following a short illness.
“Danny was one of the Harlow District Council representatives on the Garden Town board and a valued member whose commitment, enthusiasm and passion for all things Harlow could never be questioned,” said Guy.
“He was a vocal and valued member of the HGGT board, always looking to make sure that the detail in our proposals matched the vision and ambition he had for Harlow and its residents.
“We shall miss his contributions to the Garden Town and, on behalf of the Harlow & Gilston Garden Town council partners, we send our condolences to Danny’s family, friends and colleagues.”
As a mark of respect, the civic crest flag outside Harlow Civic Centre has been lowered.
