Harlow & Gilston Garden Town (HGGT) are consulting on their Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP) which showcases nine cycling routes and four walking zones.

Active travel will be prioritised across HGGT, with the aim of achieving a 60% modal shift to sustainable travel across the new Garden communities and a 50% shift within the whole Garden Town.

The consultation runs from Wednesday May 12 through to Sunday June 13 and Active Travel Officer for HGGT, David Burt, said: “Harlow has a strong cycling culture with a wide network of routes already in place which is a great foundation for our LCWIP consultation to build and improve upon.”

“Harlow also has a thriving local community that is invested in the walking and cycling infrastructure across their neighbourhoods and we are hoping to get lots of feedback on the plans.”

“We’re really looking forward to engaging with residents and stakeholders and getting their views over the next few weeks.”
